Textbooks arrive at Thread
Nov 22, 2016
Improving education in Senegal remains one of Le Korsa’s paramount goals, especially in the rural areas of Tambacounda, where the literacy rate remains lower than the national average of 57%.
We recently funded the purchasing of new textbooks and academic supplies for the primary schools of Sinthian, Koar, Saal and Ngene, and the secondary school in Dialico. When the supplies arrived to Thread this week, all of the villages’ teachers came to the center to sort them and take them back to their respective schools.
Although the school year is already underway, these new books will allow the teachers to expand their lessons, and ensure that each student has his or her own materials.
